Hate. cartoon of 30/01/2026 in CTXT

Translation of the cartoon: "When there are no outsiders left, the next person we will hate will be you."

On Tuesday 27 January 2026, the government approved an extraordinary regularisation of irregular migrants from which half a million people could benefit, although it is estimated that some 840,000 people live in Spain in this situation.

Although there is no specific date for the implementation of this measure, the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration has chosen the Royal Decree route so that regularisation processes could begin shortly and the government estimates that applications could begin to be submitted at the beginning of April.

After the Royal Decree is processed, the deadline for submitting applications would be open until 30 June and the deadline for resolving the petitions could be extended to three months, although only with the admission for processing, in a maximum of 15 days, will the immigrant applicants be able to start working.

According to the text of the regularisation, the people who can benefit from this measure are those who arrived in Spain before 31 December 2025 and who can prove that they have been in the country for at least five months at the time of the application. Another requirement is that they must not have a criminal record or pose a threat to public order.

Those whose applications are approved will be able to regularise their stay in the country and obtain a work permit valid for work in any sector throughout Spain. In principle, this authorisation will be valid for an initial period of one year and will allow for the subsequent incorporation of the beneficiaries into the ordinary figures of the Foreigners' Regulation to complete the regularisation. The permit is also extended to minor children already residing here, although in this case the authorisation will be for five years.

And who opposes regularisation? Well, the usual mean-spirited people and others who are rejected by a large part of their group, as is the case of Jesús Sanz Montes, Archbishop of Oviedo, who charged against the extraordinary regularisation of immigrants because according to his yardstick:"They don't all fit".

Hate 2

Low xenophobic bullshit argument, when almost twice as many of these people are already here, so you're not saying this because of a physical space problem.

The miserable Jesús Sanz has been left alone in the face of the position of the Episcopal Conference, which supports and applauds the measure approved by the Government.

Another one who has done the only thing he knows how to do, lie and spread hatred by the bucketful, has been the lazy Santiago Abascal. Lazy Santi lies through his teeth knowing that the regularisation of immigrants does not mean granting them nationality, but his lobotomised parish needs its periodic dose of hot bile.

Thus, Hacendado's Madelman, who did not even do the military service, who has not given a stick to water in his miserable existence and who would leave on foot if he had to defend the homeland with his body, considers that"Even if they are fraudulently given nationality they are not Spanish and will not be" and says he wants to review more than a million nationalities granted during Sánchez's term of office.

In the meantime, the PP, now acting as Vox's white label, continues with the ruse that the regularisation of immigrants is a measure to "alter the electoral roll", when they know and knew that these people will not be able to vote in the next elections.
