“The truth must be told: Europe is facing an energy crisis of existential dimensions. A shock plan is needed to alleviate energy poverty and the high cost of food and mortgages”.
With the sweet slumber and summer lull over, many households and businesses are receiving astronomical electricity bills, for amounts that are two or even three times higher than usual for this time of year. In all cases, the problem is not due to an increase in consumption but to changes in electricity bill costs. One of these extra costs has aroused the suspicions (and also the ire) of part of the public and has become an opportunistic fishing ground for right-wing parties: compensation for gas companies, in accordance with Royal Decree Law 10/2022.
