In the early hours of Friday 10 October, the ceasefire entered into force after it was approved in the Israeli Congress by a large majority with the far-right "Jewish Power" and "Religious Zionism" parties voting against it.
The Israeli army announced it in X :
"The Ceasefire Agreement Came Into Effect at 12:00 Since 12:00, IDF troops began positioning themselves along the updated deployment lines in preparation for the ceasefire agreement and the return of hostages. IDF troops in the Southern Command are deployed in the area and will continue to remove any immediate threat.".
Israel's genocidal troops have already begun the first movement (see yellow line on the map) of partial withdrawal contemplated in the plan for the progressive withdrawal of its troops from Gaza and thousands of Gazans are beginning to return to their neighbourhoods. Most of them will find nothing but ruins.
Thus begins and completes the first phase of the 20-point agreement between Israel and Hamas proposed by the sociopathic Trump, who has still not got his long-awaited Nobel Peace Prize even though he went out of his way to put pressure on the Norwegian government and the prize committee and continues to insist that he has ended seven wars, which is untrue.
The deal allowed the release of 48 Israeli hostages, two dozen of them dead, in exchange for 2000 Palestinian hostages imprisoned in Israel (the press continues to call them only "prisoners"). Two years and six days after their abduction, 20 Israeli hostages have been released and of the 28 dead, their families will recover their bodies.
The yellow line represents the position of the first withdrawal of Israeli troops subject to the release of hostages.
