Netanyahu's message. The cartoon of 28/09/2025 in CTXT
Translation of the cartoon: If you resist genocide, you will die!
Netanyahu's address to the UN General Assembly left no room for doubt. There was no mention of the more than 168,000 Palestinian civilians injured and 75,000 killed by the Israeli army. It was a speech measured to the millimetre, "encapsulated" in the events of 7 October, skipping over its entire history of occupation, apartheid and invasion to justify the genocide. Adorned with simplistic placards, he repeated all the familiar points of warmongering propaganda. Moreover, his speech was broadcast with loudspeakers pointed towards Gaza.
Genocide denial remains the constant. Among the defenders of extermination there is a recurrent and insulting argument: What kind of genocide is that in which the population is warned to leave, the sociopaths insist on repeating.
If the "order" to leave is in itself cruel and cynical, the answer is as easy as it is obvious and demonstrable. There is no safe destination. There is nowhere for them to go. Israel, in addition to demolishing their homes and basic infrastructure, executes the population in refugee camps, bombs them in hospitals and at collection points for humanitarian aid, which is becoming increasingly scarce. It kills them wherever it finds them with absolutely no regard for anything.
Meanwhile, as a glimmer of hope, a possible 20-point peace agreement appears. The first headlines were overly optimistic. It is a peace agreement drafted by the aggressors in which they divide the cake, one to make up for its colonialism and the other to lay the groundwork for its next big real estate deal. In the negotiations, Egypt and Qatar have acted as mediators and have been responsible for conveying the US proposal to Hamas.
The agreement envisages that overseeing that these 20 points are met would be something they call a "Peace Board", a transitional body chaired by (oh, surprise!) Donald Trump, and whose members include former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, another notorious assassin.
Soon, Netanyahu would deny part of that agreement, denying that he had agreed with Trump on one of its points. He is adamantly opposed to the possible creation of a Palestinian state. Netanyahu says that recognition "is not written in the text", although point 19 does mention it.
Hamas prefers to wait for concrete details and exact dates of a possible timetable for the withdrawal of Israeli troops before embracing the agreement. In the meantime, the genocide continues.
Trump, in a message written in his unhinged style on his X clone (Twitter), gave Hamas until Sunday 5 October at 18:00 (22.00 GMT) to accept his Gaza peace plan or "all hell will break loose":
"An agreement with Hamas must be reached by Sunday evening at SIX (6) P.M. Washington, D.C. time. All countries have signed on! If this LAST CHANCE agreement is not reached, HELL will be unleashed against Hamas as never seen before. THERE WILL BE PEACE IN THE MIDDLE EAST ONE WAY OR THE OTHER".
At the moment, all that is known is that Hamas has agreed to release all the hostages but asks to "negotiate the details" of Trump's Gaza plan.
20-point agreement presented by Trump on 29 September.
- Gaza will be a de-radicalised, terrorist-free zone that will pose no threat to its neighbours.
- Gaza will be rebuilt for the benefit of its people, who have suffered more than enough.
- If both sides accept this proposal, the war will end immediately. Israeli forces will withdraw to the agreed line to prepare for the release of the hostages. During this time, all military operations, including air and artillery bombardment, will be suspended and the battle lines will remain frozen until the conditions for a full phased withdrawal are met.
- Within 72 hours of Israel's public acceptance of this agreement, all hostages, dead and alive, will be returned.
- Once all hostages are released, Israel will release 250 prisoners sentenced to life imprisonment, in addition to 1700 Gazans who were detained after 7 October 2023, including all women and children detained in that context. For each Israeli hostage whose remains are released, Israel will release the remains of 15 deceased Gazans.
- Once all hostages have been released, Hamas members who commit to peaceful coexistence and surrender their weapons will be granted amnesty. Hamas members who wish to leave Gaza will be provided safe passage to host countries.
- Upon acceptance of this agreement, all aid will be sent immediately to the Gaza Strip. At a minimum, aid quantities will be consistent with the 19 January 2025 agreement on humanitarian aid, including the rehabilitation of infrastructure (water, electricity, sewage), the rehabilitation of hospitals and bakeries, and the entry of equipment needed to remove rubble and open roads.
- The entry of aid and distribution into the Gaza Strip will be carried out without interference from either side, through the UN and its agencies, the Red Crescent and other international institutions not associated in any way with either side. The opening of the Rafah crossing in both directions will be subject to the same mechanism implemented under the 19 January 2025 agreement.
- Gaza will be governed by a technocratic and apolitical Palestinian committee, responsible for the day-to-day management of public services and municipalities for the people of Gaza. This committee will be composed of qualified Palestinians and international experts, under the supervision and control of a new international transitional body, the 'Peace Board', which will be led and chaired by President Donald J. Trump, along with other members and heads of state to be announced, including former Prime Minister Tony Blair. This body will set the framework and provide the funding for the reconstruction of Gaza until the Palestinian Authority has completed its reform programme, as outlined in various proposals, including President Trump's 2020 peace plan and the Saudi-French proposal, and can safely and effectively regain control of Gaza. This body will draw on the best international standards to create modern and efficient governance that serves the people of Gaza and attracts investment.
- A Trump economic development plan will be created to rebuild and energise Gaza, convening a panel of experts who have contributed to the birth of some of the thriving modern miracle cities of the Middle East. Many thoughtful investment proposals and interesting development ideas have been developed by well-meaning international groups, and will be considered to synthesise security and governance frameworks to attract and facilitate these investments that will create jobs, opportunities and hope for Gaza's future.
- A special economic zone will be established with preferential tariffs and access rates to be negotiated with participating countries.
- No one will be forced to leave Gaza, and those who wish to leave will be free to do so and to return. We will encourage people to stay and offer them the opportunity to build a better Gaza.
- Hamas and other factions agree not to play any role in the governance of Gaza, directly, indirectly or otherwise. All military, terrorist and offensive infrastructure, including tunnels and weapons production facilities, will be destroyed and will not be rebuilt. A process of demilitarisation of Gaza will be carried out under the supervision of independent monitors, including the permanent disabling of weapons through an agreed process of dismantlement, supported by an internationally funded buy-back and reintegration programme, all verified by independent monitors. The new Gaza will be fully committed to building a prosperous economy and coexisting peacefully with its neighbours.
- Regional partners will provide a guarantee to ensure that Hamas and the factions meet their obligations and that the New Gaza does not pose a threat to its neighbours or its people.
- The United States will work with Arab and international partners to create a temporary International Stabilisation Force (ISF) to deploy immediately to Gaza. The ISF will train and support selected Palestinian police forces in Gaza, and will consult with Jordan and Egypt, which have extensive experience in this area. This force will be the long-term solution for internal security. The ISF will work with Israel and Egypt to help secure the border areas, alongside the newly trained Palestinian police forces. It is essential to prevent the entry of ammunition into Gaza and to facilitate the rapid and safe flow of goods to rebuild and revitalise Gaza. The parties will agree on a conflict avoidance mechanism.
- Israel will not occupy or annex Gaza. As the ISF establishes control and stability, the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) will withdraw based on standards, milestones and timelines linked to demilitarisation to be agreed between the IDF, the ISF, the guarantors and the United States, with the goal of a secure Gaza that no longer poses a threat to Israel, Egypt or its citizens. In practice, the IDF will progressively hand over the Gaza territory it occupies to the ISF, in accordance with an agreement to be reached with the transitional authority, until it withdraws completely from Gaza, except for a perimeter security presence that will remain until Gaza is adequately protected from any resurgent terrorist threat.
- In the event that Hamas delays or rejects this proposal, the above, including the extension of the relief operation, will take place in terrorist-free areas handed over by the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) to the Internal Security Forces (ISF).
- A process of inter-religious dialogue based on the values of tolerance and peaceful coexistence will be established to try to change the mindset and discourse of Palestinians and Israelis, emphasising the benefits that peace can bring.
- As the reconstruction of Gaza progresses and the Palestinian Authority's reform programme is faithfully carried out, the conditions may finally be in place for a credible path to self-determination and the creation of a Palestinian state, which we recognise as the aspiration of the Palestinian people.
- The United States will establish a dialogue between Israel and the Palestinians to agree on a political horizon for peaceful and prosperous coexistence.
