GenerateBlocks Pro, in its version 2.5.0 of 9 December, has added one more block called "Carousel" to its collection. This new tool has five starting patterns. GenerateBlocks now has 13 blocks.
Gone is the original statement of"a collection of four lightweight basic blocks that can be used to assemble almost anything" with which this block plugin was introduced back on 30 August 2022.
While I remain loyal to this handful of blocks, I'm beginning to be torn between its promise of minimalism, performance and versatility and the suspicion that it will grow unnecessarily fat. In fact, I have already encountered cases where its blocks could be replaced by native alternatives or just HTML and CSS to improve the impact on the DOM. Also, for performance reasons, I'm not a fan of using carousels and sliders either, but I understand that they can be very useful in certain scenarios.
Be that as it may, I still think that, although it doesn't come across as a user-friendly tool for new users, it has improved a lot and its support is still among the best.
The four patterns of the carousel block are: basic carousel, typical gallery, testimonial carousel, "Hero" carousel (I never know how to translate this to hero) and query carousel. You have the description and details in this note from the developers.
Perhaps the most interesting block is the queries block, although it already existed as a static block option, now you can apply movement or slider buttons to query and display almost any data in WordPress and allow any type of post, meta options, products or custom post types within a fully customisable carousel with a lot of fine tuning.

This is the initial appearance of a "Latest posts" carousel, just added, without touching anything in the configuration, with the style inherited from the blog.

All the parameters such as thicknesses, colours, spacing, font size, etc. can be configured to taste from the block panel as well as adding icons, backgrounds, frames, effects on images or text, buttons and almost anything else you need.
