Trump revives the election fraud hoax 1

Trump revives the election fraud hoax. Cartoon from 17 July 2026 in CTXT

On Thursday the 16th of this month, the criminal they have as president in the United States addressed the nation on what some were already calling ‘Revelation Day’, thinking it would be the long-awaited announcement regarding the declassification of files on UFOs and extraterrestrial life, or the discovery of a neuron in Trump’s skull, but what he claimed was that China had hacked the electoral system and bought data in the 2020 US elections, and that Nicolás Maduro and Chavismo (whom he has been holding hostage since 3 January 2026) were guilty of hacking the voting machines.

"There isn’t a single Third World country that has worse elections than ours," said Donald.

His address to the nation, which lasted less than half an hour, centred on the announcement of the declassification of information which, according to him, would prove irregularities in the electoral system, and concluded with the presentation of a new bill to “make America safe again”. That ‘Make America Great Again’ catchphrase really does work for everything.

He also launched yet another website (which, to my great surprise, does not bear his name) called Election Integrity, on which the following can be read:

"Ensuring the integrity of our elections is essential to maintaining confidence in American democracy. Following the 2020 presidential election, concerns about potential irregularities led to detailed analyses of voting processes, data security and voter registration practices in several states. Below, you can download documents and reports that address key aspects of electoral integrity.”

As usual, the media went to town on headlines along the lines of ‘Trump says’, but we were left waiting for the detailed, ‘forensic’ journalistic analysis of the ‘Pataleta Leaks’ documents that he had announced as conclusive and irrefutable evidence. I suppose it’s just that time of year – summer slows things down because in this heat, everyone gets a bit lazy...

What we do know is that, for whatever reason, the CIA’s files do not contain any documents detailing possible US interference in Spanish politics to sound out whether they could stage a minor coup d’état – albeit for our own good.

Donald wants voting to be restricted to those who can present a photo ID and a genuine certificate of US citizenship, and he is seeking to do away with postal voting, with a few exceptions, because this would ensure that the Democrats do not “cheat”, as that is “their only way of winning”.

Trump also claimed to have “specific evidence” of alleged electoral fraud in Michigan in 2020, which he said “was covered up and ignored” during the Biden administration. Trump’s machine-gun barrage of lies has no time to cool down. He also trotted out the usual list of enemies, suggesting that Iran, Russia, China and North Korea “could” use access to these electronic voting systems and websites to tamper with electoral processes.

The psychopathic narcissist remains determined to sling more and more mud at his country’s electoral system as the elections for his second term draw nearer. And it’s not just that he hasn’t come to terms with losing the 2020 presidential election and wants to get that thorn out of his side so he can leave feeling satisfied; it’s that the moment the Americans take their eyes off him for a second, there’s no way they’ll be able to evict him from the Casablanca, not even with boiling oil, provided his rowdy supporters don’t set it alight first.
