The one who said he was not going to start any war and who also claimed he was going to end all ongoing wars, in his unconditional support for the genocidal, illegally attacked Iran without going through Congress or the UN. As Bernie Sanders recalled, "the only one who can declare war is Congress", so Trump's bombing was unconstitutional.

Even Thomas Massie (R-KY), a House Republican, lambasted Trump's attack on Iran as unconstitutional and repeatedly urged Trump to avoid joining the war, warning that the president needed congressional authority.

Be that as it may, the sociopath in the red cap was chest-thumping about his attack, but, according to CNN: "Initial US intelligence estimates indicated that the strikes against Iran did not destroy nuclear facilities. The basic components of Iran's nuclear programme are intact, and the programme is likely to be delayed by only a few months".

But nothing mattered any more because much of the world had bought Trump's movie. The group, consisting of the US, UK, France, Germany, Italy, Canada and Japan, along with the EU, omitted that it was Israel that launched the initial attack and went along with Trump's unproven argument to justify attacks on Tehran: "Iran can never have a nuclear weapon".

Even Mark Rutte, NATO's secretary general, sent a little message congratulating Trump on the attack on Iran:"Europe will pay in a big way".

Finally, the ceasefire in this illegal war, which began on 12 June with Israel's aggression against Iran, was announced by Donald Trump and came into force gradually.

The ceasefire reportedly began for Iran at approximately midnight Washington time (ET) on Monday, 23 June 2025, which would translate to 4:00 AM GMT on Tuesday, 24 June 2025, and 7:30 AM Tehran time (Iran). Israel, for its part, is supposed to join the ceasefire 12 hours later.

Initially there was the usual confusion over cross accusations of ceasefire violations, but the truce was expected to take effect within 24 hours of the initial announcement. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian called an end, at least for the time being, to the so-called12-day war, and Iranians celebrated in Tabriz's Clock Square.
