TR: It has only taken the media more than half a century to stop calling this "conflict"
Now, after three quarters of a century, the media is calling it a "war" again, but it is not. It was and is an invasion, a constant siege, occupation, apartheid, colonisation, extermination? It has a thousand names, and none of them good, what Israel has been doing and does not intend to stop doing in Palestine.
Wars were never what we once thought they should be, those clashes of soldiers that were portrayed in the movies, heroic deeds between honourable people. In modern massacres, human misery is on all fronts and remains sedimented in the land where the battle is fought for centuries.
One need only go to sites like Kaotic and the like to see thousands of crude sample videos.
While I know we look at all this from a physical and screen distance, all this misery comes to us here in the form of hypocrisy.
Thousands of dead that we knew nothing about, that didn't matter a jot, that became a number and others that we see some people tearing their hair out, encouraged by governments, politicians and the media who consider it just that the response is to treat the civilian population like"animals" and condemn several million people to death.
