TR: "I don't understand how it has come to this".

The "tension" in the Middle East varies in severity depending on who is telling you about it. Sometimes it is the prelude to an imminent third world war and sometimes it is a simple everyday incident with no more traction than a headline on page 13.

When Israel bombed a building attached to the Iranian embassy in Damascus, Syria, on 1 April, with the obvious intention of blowing up the embassy, leaving eleven dead and razing the building to the ground, no one spoke of "World War III". No one raised their hands to their heads or spoke of an act of war. It was normal.

When Israel was asked about the reason for this bombing. As usual, displaying the cynicism that characterises the herd of murderers that is Israel's army, a military spokesman said: "We do not comment on reports in the foreign press".

Israel's bombing of the Iranian embassy came days after other Israeli strikes in Syria in which at least 53 people were killed, of whom 38 were said to be soldiers and seven members of Hezbollah. On that occasion too, the world was not concerned about the 'escalation' of 'tension'.

However, when Iran responded to this act of war during the early hours of 13-14 April, there was hardly a single media outlet left that did not talk about aggression, attack, war, etc. And the Trending Tontic, of course, was "World War III" with no trace of Iran's right to defend itself. That right is now only for Israel.

At that point, French President Emmanuel Macron appears to accuse Iran of"disproportion" against Israel and confirms the French intervention.

And in Spain, little is said on the subject because there is a lot of football these days, but Borja Sémper, who never misses an opportunity to disgust, believes that "Spain cannot be equidistant between the dictatorship of Iran and the democracy of Israel".

Semper refers to that democracy, the last or only one in the Middle East (parroted by the media) that has already murdered more than 33,000 civilians(40,000 according to Euro-Med Monitor) in the open. Israel does not intend to stop killing until it wipes them off the map of the land it has illegally occupied for decades.

Well, today Israel has already materialised its promise to respond to Iran's response and the script has been repeated. The mouthpieces of the Israeli propaganda machine will tell you nothing else: Israel is defending itself. Zero context, minimal or no background. That's how geomyths camouflaged as journalism work.

Assassin's Pact

Israel has not abandoned its plan to invade Rafah as it negotiates with the US over its response to Iran's attack. The US would let Israel continue the genocide in Palestine in exchange for "containment" against Iran. You can't get more disgusting and embarrassing.

There you have two murderous states bargaining with people's lives without shame and without hiding. Those who can do something watch and continue to make "gestures".

Such gestures as once again calling for the recognition of the State of Palestine (which exists, it does exist, they should rather call for its non-annihilation).

But of course. The United States has vetoed the Palestinian request to be recognised as a full member state of the UN, thus blocking a resolution supporting a status the Palestinians have long sought at the United Nations, where they are considered a"non-member observer state". So, no more defending them. The way is clear for genocide.

Prohibited to talk about genocio and occupation

All this is made possible in large part by the invaluable work of the media of the declining empire and those of the countries that emulate them in the West as submissive yokels.

The New York Times instructed reporters covering Israel's extermination in the Gaza Strip to restrict the use of the terms "genocide" and "ethnic cleansing" and "avoid" the use of the phrase "occupied territory" when describing the Palestinian territory, according to an internal memo obtained by The Intercept.
