Today I present to you what will be the new motherboard, it arrived a few days ago and this week the rest of the components will fall.
This is the ASUS Tuf Gaming Z790 Plus Wifi, a DDR5 compatible version (there is a PRO version of the same name and a slightly cheaper DDR4 version). ) It is a more than worthy option in the medium/high segment for its current price.
It is around 250 euros, but can occasionally be found below this price.

This board is the natural successor of my current ASUS Sabertooth Z77 from early 2012, a diamond-hard board that is still in perfect condition. I think I'll leave it on a shelf as decoration or I might even use it to build a home server. This board was the one that made me loyal to the brand.
The ASUS Sabertooth line was part of the TUF(The Ultimate Force) series, focusing on durability and endurance, but with a distinctive design: the "Thermal Armor". After the Sabertooth Z77, ASUS reorganised its portfolio and the evolution of these boards split into two paths with its two latest models.
-SabertoothZ87 (2013, LGA 1150, Intel Z87): last board with the name "Sabertooth". Maintained Thermal Armor and military certification (TUF components). Compatible with Intel 4th Gen CPUs (Haswell).
-SabertoothX79 (2012, LGA 2011, Intel X79): version in the same line (LGA 2011 socket, Sandy Bridge-E/Ivy Bridge-E CPUs).
With the X79 also came the end of the "Sabertooth" series. ASUS discontinued the Sabertooth name and consolidated all of its "rugged" motherboards under the TUF Gaming brand.

The first PCIe slot, which is typically used for the GPU, has a different approach to locking. It has a button that unlocks the slot's security lock if held down.
