The rupture. Cartoon of 07/06/2025 in CTXT
Although it happened only a few days ago, the break-up of the relationship between these two sociopaths is now a thing of the past because new moves quickly occupied the respective agendas of these two former lovers.
I don't think Donald Trump and Elon Musk' s turbulent rift came as a surprise to anyone. The violent clash and derailment of the egos of these two was a foregone conclusion, it was just a question of when it would happen.
The mess didn't last long, but there was time to get tons of popcorn and enjoy the spectacle of this couple of rednecks to the fullest. It was all very comforting, like reading Steve Bannon(another one of those on the panel) calling for SpaceX to be nationalised and Elon Musk to be deported. Nor was there any lack of the eternal cuñao and rich second-in-command, the one who has been leaving Spain for decades and there is no way for him to leave, to claim casito. A case that the Spanish media are delighted to offer him.
But the stellar pair didn't need secondaries, Trump and Musk unleashed personal threats and insults in public. Each on their respective social media sites was sick and tired of spouting bullshit, with Trump threatening to cut Musk's government contracts, while Musk said Trump wouldn't have won in November without him.
The disgruntled Musk railed against Trump's domestic policy bill as a"disgusting abomination". Melon, in his temper tantrum, went so far as to propose the creation of a new political party in the United States aimed at US citizens who identify with neither the Democratic nor Republican Party. You know, the classic"neither left nor right", which in the case of the USA would be directly ultra-right.
All this, however violent it may seem to you, don't think that it is something definitive. Don't rule out the possibility that tomorrow you'll be chewing each other's boogers because you're both interested in it for whatever reason. In fact, Melon has already taken his little steps "backwards" and Trump has hinted that he is considering reconciling with Musk, although, for the moment, it is not his priority.
