Comedy trial, Cartoon of 08/03/2025 in CTXT
In July 2022, the Yisus lawyers' foundation filed a lawsuit against the comedian Héctor de Miguel, "Quequé", for an alleged crime of incitement to hatred, harassment and against religious feelings and scorn (the whole lot, you know) for satirical content in his programme "Hora Ventipico" on Cadena Ser.
Although it was said on several occasions, I think at least twice (I admit that at some point I got lost with the chronology of the jokes), on one of them and the first one in June 2022, for which the Christian Lawyers filed the complaint, it went like this:
"Enough of pretending that it's beautiful, for fuck's sake. The Valley of the Fallen is fucking shit. Why don't we go in there with dynamite and blow it all up. If it can be on a Sunday, all the better. If it can be this one... You may be a fascist, but is the Valley of the Fallen really beautiful?
Well, Carlos Valle (juas), the judge who prosecuted Quequé, compared his joke about the Valley of the Fallen to a threat to dynamite the Pedro Zerolo square and stone homosexuals with the resulting chunks.
The judge compares Héctor de Miguel's joke about the Valley of the Fallen to blowing up the Plaza Pedro Zerolo and stoning homosexuals.

To have to witness such surreal judicial spectacles in the 21st century is the real joke.
Although in his head the comparison might seem to the judge to be a seamless argument, in reality he did the questioner a priceless favour by giving him the cue to remember again what humour means and how it is used, whether you like it or not, whether it is blacker or whiter, more crude or gentler, and its tools and resources.
These days we have known that the Court of Instruction 4 of Madrid decreed the provisional dismissal and the file of the complaint against Lalachús, Broncano and RTVE for showing a stamp of a stamp of the heifer of the "Grand Prix" characterised as the Sacred Heart of Jesus during the broadcasting of the New Year's Eve chimes on TVE.
The judge found that the presenters complained of did not mock the Catholic religion. And he had to remind the plaintiffs once again of something that we must never tire of repeating:
"Freedom of expression protects not only information or ideas that are favourably received, but also those that shock, disturb or offend.
Ultra-Catholic lawyers lose almost all, if not all, of the lawsuits they file.
This does not affect them because they handle a lot of money to burn and impose the discouragement effect. Christian Lawyers don't give a damn about losing and having to pay costs. The noise is already made. Their only mission is to scare people and to spread the feeling that "crimes" are committed against Christians and their beliefs and that they are "persecuted".
Thus, someone with resources and a strong legal backing will not have much of a problem. Even if these absurd complaints are admitted (which I still do not understand, except for the existence of many ultra-Catholic judges), they will come to nothing, but a "small" author might think about it. Just to frighten some people, the ultra-lawyers consider that the money they "invest" in lawsuits has already paid for itself.
And this is why they can't and won't stop. They bore flies. For every lawsuit they lose , they file another one, or two, so that the noise doesn't stop.
The government has promised to abolish the crime against religious feelings this year, but if they follow the same timetable as with the promised non-repeal (now turned into a cosmetic reform) of the Gag Law, find a comfortable chair to sit and wait.

As for the issue of hate crimes, there are those who really long for being able to execute people, like that group of racist, xenophobic, chauvinist and Nazi-like police officers. The 42nd Court of Instruction of Madrid closed the case for possible hate crimes and slander for the insults against the mayoress Manuela Carmena and the racist comments. EFE reported(1) that, according to the order, there were no rational indications of these crimes and it was agreed that the case would be provisionally dismissed and consequently closed.
They will also remember that bunch of retired military commanders who wished, and not in a humorous tone, to shoot 26 million Spaniards ("sons of bitches"). The Public Prosecutor's Office did not see any hate crime in the retired soldiers' chat and closed the investigation.
