On Monday, 25 March, the UN Security Council demanded an immediate ceasefire in Gaza in a resolution tabled by the 10 non-permanent members of the Council that was passed with the United States abstaining.
Not even 24 hours after this resolution, Israel was already bombing the Gaza Strip. On the same day, 12 people drowned trying to collect humanitarian aid dropped over the sea.
It has taken 170 days to realise that something is amiss in Palestine and that Israel is already going a little too far with the genocide. The UN is merely mediating peace and providing humanitarian aid, so those hoping for something more expeditious to stop the genocide can keep waiting.
The US, in its eternal hypocrisy and disgusting warmongering, considers this Gaza ceasefire resolution "non-binding". You know what this means. Beyond its role as an accomplice in the extermination of the Palestinian population, it has to protect its ever buoyant business of selling cucumbers.

But their business doesn't stop here, wars are like pigs, they take advantage of everything. In destruction there are always plenty of opportunities to make money.
In early March, Joe Biden announced the construction of a floating dock off the Gaza coast to allow humanitarian aid to arrive by sea, but the project, due to its scale and difficulty, will take weeks.
After selling its headlines to present itself as "saviours", the Pentagon confessed that it might need at least two months with 1,000 troops working flat out to build the dock.
In any case, even if the dock were built tomorrow, it would be clearly insufficient because the land route is the only really effective way to deliver the necessary humanitarian aid in time and quantity.
The Palestinians are screwed anyway because the commissioner general of the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), Philippe Lazzarini, revealed that Israel has told the UN that it will not approve any more humanitarian convoys to the northern Gaza Strip, where famine is decimating the population.
However little time it takes to get this "maritime corridor" (just another sea lane) up and running and to build this temporary infrastructure, it will be more than enough time to add many thousands more deaths to the shameful tally.

While the murderous state of Israel continues to write pages in our history that are shameful and disgusting, we are learning more and more cruel passages of an unpunished genocide applauded by a good part of the world. Then will come the lamentations.
