Donald Trump in a USA cap and Netanyahu in a bloodstained butcher's apron chanting: "We are the war...we are the killer".

The war. Cartoon of 01/03/2026 in CTXT

Translation of the cartoon. Trump and Netanyahu singing: "We are the world, we are the killer."

The world has long been a big box of firecrackers with a bunch of crazy people sitting in it smoking. In the early hours of Saturday 28 February, two of those loonies decided it was time to set the box on fire.

Thus, Trump announced in his Twitter clone "a major joint combat operation" with his colleague Netanyahu, the butcher of Israel, against the main institutions of Iran to "protect the American people by eliminating the threat posed by the Iranian regime" and that Iran "can never have nuclear weapons" and that "they will annihilate its navy and its entire missile industry". Shortly afterwards he confirmed the assassination of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Trump, who promised that the US would no longer be the "sheriff" of the world and would no longer wage war abroad (and his narrow-minded voters believed it), is once again plunging the country into war without even trying to get the authorisation of Congress or at least the "backing" of public opinion and without a clear motive for the attack.

Almost all polls in the US agree that most Americans do not support Trump's war in Iran. To cite a few, such as this Reuters/Ipsos poll, only one in four Americans say they support the attacks. Another CBS poll shows that 62% of US adults surveyed do not believe that the Trump administration has given a clear explanation of the objectives being pursued in Iran.

Iran responded to the aggression with several attacks on Israeli territory and closed its airspace. Iranian media began reporting explosions in Tehran and other cities such as Tabriz, Isfahan and Karaj.

The US war department called the attack"Operation Epic Fury" while Israel dubbed the operation against Iran"Lion's Roar" and justified it by saying that "This murderous terrorist regime must not arm itself with nuclear weapons".

Iran sent misils to a US naval base in Bahrain and is also reported to have attacked another US base in Kuwait, while reports of explosions are coming from Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and Iraq. In Jordan, explosions are reported in the middle of the missile crossings. Israel also starts bombing in Lebanon while China speaks out for a truce and the rest of the world still doesn't know where to lay its egg so as not to upset the Cheeto.

The first reports are coming in of a bombing of a primary school in Iran that reportedly left at least five students dead. The Iranian state news agency IRNA claims that an Israeli attack hit the Shajareh Tayyebehen Minab girls' primary school in the southern Iranian province of Hormozgan.

Soon after, according to the Iranian agencies Mehr and Irna, the Minab prosecutor's office raised the number of people killed in the Israeli attack on the girls' primary school to 85. The number of people killed there would eventually rise to 168.

Israel and the US are either admitting nothing or denying everything and the only thing they spouted was the usual, that they never bomb civilians and that they are "considering looking into it". Sociopathic Barbie and White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt lashed out at the press, accusing them of falling for"Iranian propaganda" about their involvement in the school attack BBC-verified footage confirms that the girls' school in Iran was repeatedly bombed.

For Trump, Spain is already a "loser" country, a "terrible ally" and I don't know how much more bullshit and he bluffs about "cutting off trade" after the Xanxe Dog government warned him that the use of the Morón and Rota bases for attacks on Iran would not be authorised. The Foreign Minister, José Manuel Albares, in an interview on RTVE said that"The bases of joint use, but of Spanish sovereignty, are not going to be used for anything that is not included in the treaty or outside the UN Charter".

According to the agreement signed in 1988 between Spain and the US, which regulates the presence and use of US military bases in Spanish territory, Article 2.2 states that any operation that deviates from the agreed use"shall require the prior authorisation of the Spanish Government". The UN Charter prohibits the use of force between states, unless authorised by the UN Security Council (Art. 42) or if a country is acting in legitimate self-defence against an armed attack (Art. 51).

Estimates are already beginning to be made of what this "war" is going to cost the United States - some 200 billion dollars. No one has yet dared to calculate the human losses. But perhaps they should, because this will not be a Blitzkrieg.

All signs are that this is going to go on for a long time and that the US empire could be stranded, once again, in another endless war, which has every chance of spreading from the Middle East to much of the rest of the world.
